Changes in the NFL? Thoughts?

I came across this interesting article from the NY Times this morning. While I do think the safety and health of the players is the most important thing, how will this be affecting the game?     Maybe more effort will go into the "technical" aspects of football when the kids are younger - like teaching them to tackle properly or not leading with the helmet. I don't think football will fade. Rugby goes in and out of style, as long as there is a movie coming out.
